Does L.I.G.H.T.S. believe in ghosts?
This question is flawed, as it implies an assumption as to the nature of paranormal activity and the requirement of a faith or belief to make the determination of the existence of this activity. We are scientists. Assume two people and a ghost are in a room, where the nature of the ghost is unknown. If one person observes the ghost while the second person does not then the ghost is a hallucination. If two people observe the ghost then the ghost exists in our world and is real. This real disturbance can be recorded either visually or audibly or both. If we can see it, we can photograph it. If we can hear it, we can record it. It is through our study, documentation, and analysis that we come to understand the nature of paranormal disturbances.
Nothing exists in our world which does not obey the laws of physics, which is why they are called the “laws” of physics and not merely “suggestions.” Light must transmit photons in the visible wavelength spectrum, else we cannot see them. Sound must exert pressure waves of a spectrum of frequencies, else we cannot hear them. Any disturbance, normal or paranormal, which effects the first five of our senses: sight, hearing, smell, touch, and taste is “real” provided that our senses are working correctly.
Do you live in or near a “haunted” location on Long Island? Do you know anyone who does? Afraid to tell anyone because you have no solid proof? We can help.
